Baby Spice Limbers up for Chitty Role???Date: 3 September 2002Pop Idol Will Young isn't the only chart-topper rumoured to be under consideration for a part in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (See The Goss, 6 Aug 02) at the London Palladium. According to celebrity gossip website PeopleNews.com, Baby Spice Emma Bunton also has her heart set on joining the cast and is even taking singing lessons in preparation for her 'truly scrumptious' West End debut. is reporting that Popstar Will Young is in the running to replace Michael Ball as Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium. Though the singer is famous for his participation in - and winning of - the reality TV show, he apparently studied drama at university so is keen to tread the boards. Ball made his musical theatre comeback in the role when The £6 million musical, based on the classic children's film, premiered in April with cast led by Michael Ball, Nichola McAuliffe, Brian Blessed, Edward Petherbridge, Anton Rodgers and Emma Williams. Original Childcatcher Richard O'Brien will be replaced later this month by Lily Savage star Paul O'Grady. Related Content |
