Brown Tips Last Five Years for London???

London interest in the work of Jason Robert Brown is riding high. The American composer acted as musical director � and provider of two numbers - for Philip Quast during his stint as last week�s Diva at the Donmar and, on Sunday night, hosted a benefit performance to raise funds for the Bridewell Theatre, the tiny London venue which has previously staged the UK premiere of his Songs for a New World. Both engagements were sell-outs with theatregoers queuing down the street for returns to the latter, at which Brown was joined on stage by Golda Roshuevel, Jenna Russell and South Pacific�s Lauren Kennedy. Together, Kennedy and Brown performed excerpts from his poignant song cycle about the disintegration of a marriage, The Last Five Years, to enthusiastic applause. The Tony Award winner hopes the show, which played earlier this year Off-Broadway, will soon find a London home, perhaps at the Bridewell, with an eye to a commercial run elsewhere.
