On Your Toes Swaps Wales for West End???

Though no longer headlining this autumn's International Festival of Musical Theatre in Cardiff, Leicester Haymarket's Richard Rodgers' centenary production of On Your Toes may have a little life left in it yet. Choreographed by Royal Ballet star Adam Cooper and directed by Haymarket artistic director Paul Kerryson, the revival of Rodgers and Hart's 1936 musical comedy received rave critical and popular reviews during its brief Leicester run in May 2002. Several commercial producers have now expressed interest in bringing it to the West End and are on the hunt for availability at an appropriate venue. On Your Toes was last seen in the West End in 1984 at the Palace Theatre where it starred Tim Flavin and ballerina Natalie Makarova. In the Haymarket production, choreographer Cooper also starred along with Kathryn Evans, Linzi Hateley and a 20-strong cast.
