Joan Collins Bites Back in Solo Stage Show???Date: 8 August 2002 Never one to be defeated, Joan Collins is making preparations for another UK stage show. Her last outing on the boards in this country was last autumn in Ken Ludwig's Over the Moon. But that proved a farce both onstage and off thanks to a critical panning, some controversial publicity shots (featuring the well-preserved Collins in stockings and garter) and the high-profile walk-out of her American co-star Frank Langella. The play was meant to be Collins' triumphant West End comeback after a decade-long absence, but it closed after a matter of weeks at the Old Vic. The new piece, which is tipped for a UK tour next year, will be an autobiographical one-woman show, tentatively titled An Evening with Joan Collins. No doubt the star will have plenty of material to draw from (theatre critics watch out). In a hark back to her 1980s Dynasty heyday, the actress is currently back in the US playing a rich and ruthless bitch in TV soap opera Guiding Light.
