Madonna Forces Wyndham's Manager to Quit???Date: 20 June 2002 According to press reports, the manager of the Wyndham's Theatre, where Madonna is currently appearing in David Williamson's Up for Grabs, has walked out because of the superstar's constant demands. These have allegedly included instructions for the decoration of her dressing room, the installation of a power-shower, the presence of front-of-stage bouncers and rules for interactions (or lack of them) with theatre staff. A friend of the theatre manager, William Ingrey, told the Evening Standard, "William was exasperated by all the fuss surrounding Madonna. He had been pushing for the dressing room to be redecorated for donkey's years. When Madonna arrived, there was a complete revamp to her precise specifications. William wasn't terribly happy in the job anyway and Madonna was the icing on the cake." Ingry had been employed at the theatre for nearly 30 years. Madonna, who made her West End debut leading the cast of Up for Grabs, completes her sold-out, ten-week season on 13 July 2002.
