The BFG Plans Christmas Assault???
Date: 24 May 2002
The BFG, David Wood's stage adaptation of Roald Dahl's much-loved children's book, may soon be rivalling the likes of
The Snowman and
The Nutcracker for family Christmas entertainment. It has been touring to enthusiastic audiences since last November and negotiations are now underway to bring it into the West End ahead of this year's festive season. A previous production of
The BFG enjoyed two limited West End engagements and the current revival has already played at London's Sadler's Wells. Regularly topping polls of the best children's fiction in the world,
The BFG, or Big Friendly Giant, is Dahl's story of young orphan, Sophie, who is snitched from her bed and whisked off to Giant Country by the 15-ft BFG with a jumbly way of talking.
