Vagina's Searching for a New Suitor???Date: 3 May 2002 If there's a play ever likely to challenge Fame in the most-moved stakes, Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues may well be it. Featuring a regularly refreshed trio of female celebrities, this ode to the female sex organ has transferred back and forth between the New Ambassadors and the Arts Theatres since it first opened in the West End in May 2001. As already reported in the Whatsonstage.com News, it's now got to pack up again at the New Ambassadors to make way for Kenneth Lonergan's Lobby Hero, transferring from the Donmar Warehouse. In fact, Ensler's show may have to finish even earlier than its scheduled 22 June conclusion, what with Lobby Hero possibly muscling in a few weeks early. Still, producers insist The Vagina Monologues is not closing and that another new home will be announced very soon. Once again, bets are on - consult your West End monopoly board please for possibilities.
