Donmar Proof Provides Dry Run for Paltrow???Date: 1 March 2002If you didn’t manage to get tickets for the Donmar Warehouse, you may yet have an opportunity to see Gwyneth Paltrow in David Auburn’s Tony award-winning Proof. Film company Miramax has apparently bought the rights to the play, specifically to have Paltrow star in it. The project will reunite Paltrow and director John Madden, who worked together on Miramax’s 1998 hit Shakespeare in Love - so no coincidence then that Madden is also directing Proof at the Donmar, where it has already sold out its limited run from 9 May to 15 June 2002. Apparently, work on the film version will start thereafter, Paltrow’s schedule permitting. In Proof, Paltrow plays the daughter of a mathematical genius who must struggle to come to terms with her father’s legacy of mental illness. Related Content |
