A Second Coming for Rocky Horror???Date: 25 January 2002 A long overdue sequel to Richard O'Brien's unrivalled cult phenomenon, The Rocky Horror Show, is reportedly in the works and nearing completion. Inspired by O'Brien's childhood love of schlock sci-fi films, the original Rocky Horror premiered at the Royal Court in 1973 and later spawned the 1975 cult film, starring Susan Sarandon and Tim Curry. The rock musical celebrated its 25th anniversary in 1998 with a Jubilee tour of the UK, touching down briefly in the West End. The sequel - Rocky Horror: The Second Coming - could be getting people reaching for stockings and suspenders as soon as the end of this year. O'Brien, also an actor as well as a TV show presenter, is about to return to the West End stage as the Child Catcher in the musical adaptation of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which receives its world premiere at the London Palladium on 16 April 2002 (previews from 19 March).
