More Flurries for White Christmas???Date: 24 January 2002 The possibility of a West End revival for White Christmas was on-again, off-again last year. After being talked about for many months, it was confirmed in May that Irving Berlin's festive musical would have a seasonal run from late September at the Savoy Theatre. But by midsummer, with no appropriate leads ever found, the production was called off. Now, rumour has it, a resurrection, under new management, might be in the offing. White Christmas tells the story of two World War II veterans who become partners in a song-and-dance act after the war. In pursuit of romance, the two are enlisted to help out their former army commander with a Christmas gig at his ailing ski resort. The 1954 film starred Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye and Rosemary Clooney. The title song, which won an Academy Award, has become one of the most popular Christmas anthems of all time.
