Bill Kenwright is behind a new historical musical entitled
Jeanie Skye (formerly

Les Miserables. While
Les Mis was adapted from Victor Hugo's classic novel of the same name, the new piece has been loosely based on Robert Louis Stevenson's

Jeanie Skye features music and lyrics by Brian Spence and is directed by Bob Thomson. An early version of the musical was staged at the 1995 Edinburgh Festival, with former pop star Chesney Hawkes in the cast. The updated piece will feature a 15-strong company, which has not yet been cast.
