No Truth to Blood Brothers Rumour???
Date: 20 December 2001
Rumours persist that the London production of Willy Russell's
Blood Brothers could be nearing the end of the line. The award-winning musical has been playing in the West End for over 13 years, over a decade at its current home at Phoenix Theatre. But there's been talk that the theatre could play host in 2002 to the Broadway musical
Jekyll and Hyde, by Steve Cuden and Frank Wildhorn.
Blood Brothers producer
Bill Kenwright has strongly denied that his show was anywhere near closure. He told
The Stage newspaper that "there is no truth in the rumour" and said he "would not be surprised if
Blood Brothers were still on in London for the next decade".
