Margulies Serves Up Dinner in the West End???Date: 14 September 2001 Donald Margulies' Pulitzer Prize-winning Dinner with Friends may be served up in the West End before the end of the year. Originally a hit off-Broadway, the play - about two married couples and what happens to their friendships after one of the couples divorces - received its London premiere this past June at north London's Hampstead Theatre. Directed by Simon Curtis, the original UK cast of Elizabeth McGovern, Samantha Bond, Kevin Anderson and Rolf Saxon are expected to resume their roles in the transfer. Dinner with Friends won the 2000 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. An all-star film version - featuring Dennis Quaid, Andie MacDowell, Greg Kinnear and Toni Collette - was televised in the US last month. Margulies's other plays include Collected Stories, which starred Helen Mirren at the West End's Theatre Royal Haymarket in 1999.
