Five Reasons to See ... Desolate Heaven at Theatre503

Date: 7 February 2013

Desolate Heaven, a play about two young girls burdened with unnatural responsibility, opens at Theatre503 this week (8 February 2013). Opening Paul Robinson's first season as sole artistic director of the theatre, it runs until 2 March.

Here the company give us five reasons to see the show...

It's the launch of a new era
Desolate Heaven launches Paul Robinson's debut season as sole artistic director of Theatre503. As part of a new artistic policy, the production represents our continued commitment to new writers and new writing, whilst sitting alongside new initiatives Second Look and Playwright Presents in which established writers and plays present on our stage.

A winning play and a winning playwright
Desolate Heaven saw off stiff competition to be the first play in our season - Paul read over 200 new plays to make his selection! Writer Ailís Ní Ríain recently received the Tom Erhardt Bursary by the Peggy Ramsey Foundation and has had her music performed all over the world at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Purcell Room.

The cast
Tony Award winning actress [Bríd Brennan] heads up the cast, whilst the production is delighted to be hosting the professional stage debuts of superb new talents Carla Langley and Evelyn Lockley.

The price
We continue to offer some of the most reasonably priced tickets on the fringe - full price tickets to see Desolate Heaven come in at only £15 - and with a variety of £10 concession rates for Equity, Students, OAPs and those on Benefits, local residents offers and Pay What You Can Sundays, we're definitely value for money!

The pub
Theatre503 sits above The Latchmere pub which offers a lovely food menu, a variety of ales and other beverages and cosy spots by the fire to snuggle up in before and after our shows. Buy a bottle of Pinot Grigio for just £7.95 or treat yourself to two cocktails for the price of one. When booking show tickets in advance, follow the instructions on your email confirmation to receive 25% off your food bill. Well worth a look!
