Five Reasons To See ...Just One Day
Date: 12 August 2011

Just One Day is written by Catherine Kay - an M.E.N award nominated writer. Her first play Bubbysauraus had a sell-out run at Contact Theatre Manchester in 2004 and on the strength of audience reaction and feedback had a second sell out run in 2005. After a long stint in the literary wilderness, Catherine’s back and here she gives us five reasons why you should see Just One Day at the Lowry next month.

1. The Music
Just One Day has got a rock n roll sound track, decade blending 80’s industrial Manchester with 90’s grungy Seattle and fuses it all together in a millennium rooted story. Jump on board GenXers and Society

2. The Talent… and I don’t just mean the boys!
Just One Day has got top notch local actors, performing roles that were specially written for them. How brave is that?  As well as top talent it’s also got nudity, working class hen night brawls and slut walks. Now if that’s not value for money I don’t know what is.

3. The Taboo
This play dares to speak about ‘the unspeakable crime with no name’ Drug Rape. It does so in a blunt, unapologetic and uncompromising way. Why have a taboo if you’re not going to confront it and smash it up Riot GRrrl style?

4. The F word
Just One Day is attempting to make the F word fashionable again. If all attempts at this fail there will certainly be a few fashionable F words thrown about in the Q&A session on the opening night.

5. The Lowry
A great venue and tickets are from £5!

Just One Day is at the Lowry from 29 September - 1 October.
