Rogue Theatre present The Dancer and the Devil which opens at the Lowry next week. Described as bright, sparkling and full of comic mischief, the show invites you to lose yourself in a world of twisted cabaret. We asked Rogue's Artistic Director Angelina Boscarelli why you should go along.

1. Wild and reckless entertainment
The Dancer and The Devil embraces the traditional, the vibrant, the wickedly entertaining and delightfully reckless art of cabaret. Immerse yourself in a world that bleeds glitter and attracts wildly talented musicians, singers and dancers like moths to the audiences flame.  

2. Music to get your pulse racing
Led by Gypsy jazz, blues punk musical meastro Julian Gaskell, The Dancer and The Devil is supported by a live score and combines Julian's masterful composition with the exquisite vocals of Lauren Vandike.   

3. Variety
We've got comic entertainment, we've got macabre entertainment, we've got graceful dance entertainment, we've got toe tapping leg kicking, cupcake flying mind frying entertainment, we've got music, poetry, pathos, mystical illusion, wheel of fortune, cabaret entertainment...we've even got a game show!

4. Powerful narrative
The Dancer and The Devil tells a powerful and gripping tale of love and death, memories and trying to forget. Poetic brilliance from Cornwall's word witch Anna Maria Murphy mixed with an original concept by Rogue's Angelina Boscarelli and Ollie Oakenshield.

5. See it first!
Originally developed at BAC's scratch festival in May 2010 The Dancer and The Devil has been developed with the support of Prema Arts Centre and The Lowry. This has allowed Rogue Theatre to work in a new way and with new artists. The production is the result of an exciting year long process and offers a unique opportunity to to see the work first and have your say. The company will be hosting post show talks and inviting dialogue with the audience before developing the work later in the year.
