Five Reasons To See....A Christmas Carol
Date: 19 November 2010

The Library Theatre's production of the Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol opens at the Lowry next month. We caught up with Paul Barnhill (who plays Fred Scrooge, Ebeneezer's nephew) to give us his five reasons to along and see this festive favourite.

1. It’s Christmas
Christmas isn’t Christmas without A Christmas Carol.

2. The Story
It’s a wonderful dark tale, full of ghosts, great characters, and enchanting scenes.

3. It’s for everyone
It’s a great morality tale. We see and feel Scrooge as he goes from miserable miser to redeemed everyman. Everyone can identify with the story, it’s for adults and children alike, from six to 96.

4. The era
It’s set in 1840s, Victorian England. There’s immense poverty, harsh conditions, and child labour.

5. And finally
A Christmas Carol is one of the greatest festive stories ever written. It’s a wonderful cast, it will be a fantastic production. See the show!

The Library Theatre Company’s production of Charles Dickens
A Christmas Carol is directed by Rachel O’Riordan, and the production runs at The Lowry between 3 December 2010 - 8 January 2011.
