Five Reasons To See... Witness For The Prosecution Date: 18 October 2010 Witness For The Prosecution is a stage adaptation of Agatha Christie's classic novel which has also been a highly acclaimed film. It opens in Manchester in November, and here, actor and former star of Drop The Dead Donkey - Robert Duncan gives us his five reasons why you should go along.
1. The Genre Possibly the finest thriller from the Christie stable. 2. The Narrative One of the best twisting denouements ever written. 3. Hold Court A chance to see local members of the public become amateur sleuths and actual courtroom personnel in the onstage court scenes. 4. The Set Design A classic set which creates the arena of the Old Bailey Court and in turn imposes a very real presence; even in the less threatening Chambers scenes. 5. The Cast A worthy and very strong cast that keeps the pace and tension of the play moving in the right dynamic.(Modesty stretched to the limit and beyond in supplying this last reason!) Witness For The Prosecution runs at the Manchester Opera House from 1 - 6 November.
