  • Skellig comes to life David Almond’s book Skellig, published in 1998, became an instant classic, snatching the Whitbread Children's Book Award from Harry Potter and winning the prestigious Carnegie Medal. After successful runs in both Birmingham and London last year, Birmingham Stage Company are reviving the show for a new ten week autumn tour and a Christmas stint at the Bloomsbury theatre from 15 December. The magical tale tells the story of Micheal, who stumbles upon a strange creature in his garage. Is it a bird? Is it a man?

  • There’s a name for women like us… - and that would be Faithless Bitches. No charm spared here! Truly Fierce Productions presents the world premiere of the outrageous comedy Faithless Bitches. Brace yourself for the startling story of former skid row starlet Monique Masters as she claws her way from the gutter to the Hollywood hills... by any means necessary. A tale of blue movies, black hearts, long nails and short skirts - this is the American Dream with a pistol in its garter belt. We’re all for something different here at WOS and this new piece is a great night out, rooted in pure entertainment and should be well worth a visit to the Courtyard Theatre this autumn.

  • Let’s do the TimeWarp again… and again, and again and again! - It was a wet and windy Halloween for cult followers of the hit musical The Rocky Horror Show this year as they gathered in their thousands on Brighton beach. Aiming for The Guiness World Record Attempt for the World’s largest TimeWarp, they were put through their paces by the show’s choreographer Jenny Arnold and were joined by the show’s creator Richard O’Brien to jump to the left and step to the right to become record breakers. The current cast of the 2009/10 tour featuring David Bedella and Mark Evans were also on hand to join in the fun but they did they bend their knees in time enough to set a record…
