Afro Celt Sound System formed more than 20 years ago when Simon Emmerson brought a group of musicians from the UK and Africa to Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios. Since then, they have released a "trail-blazing" (PopMatters) fusion of African and Celtic music, bringing together "an irresistible blend of rhythms and lilting spirituality aimed equally at the head, heart and feet" (BBC Music). They perform following the release of their latest album, The Source. "I can guarantee it's a unique and unmissable spectacle," says Folk Radio of their live shows.
Since their formation in 1996 in the midst of the creative energy spawned by the Heavenly Social big beat scene, the Dub Pistols have become renowned for scoring collaborations and remixes with some of the top names in music today, from Terry Hall of The Specials, Lily Allen, Moby, Ian Brown, Rodney P and Lindy Layton (remember ‘Dub Be Good To Me’?), right through to reggae legend Gregory Isaacs - an impressive cast in anyone’s book.
Jazz songbird Sadie Sinner hosts a decadent evening of burlesque and cabaret. Performances by showgirl Bettsie Bon Bon, Peter Antoniou, Shirley Windmill, and Lena Mae.
Tribute band for The Kinks.
The ultimate AC/DC tribute, with all the classics from Whole Lotta Rosie to Highway To Hell, and a big difference - both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras are portrayed.
A massively popular artist with a huge live following, Newton is a genuine grass roots phenomenon, touring heavily for the past two years building up from low key gigs and support shows to headline performances and main-stage festival slots at home and abroad. Newton has won over fans and critics alike with his unique mixture of mind-boggling virtuoso guitar techniques and a natural wit.
After touring with the likes of Deep Purple, Joe Bonamassa, The John Butler Trio and Status Quo, the band's single reached number 2 in the UK blues charts on downloads alone, without any label backing. They are renowned for creating a huge sound, incorporating eclectic grooves from world music to heavy rock, using unusual combinations of instrumentation such as tongue drum, djembe, lap steel guitar and double bass they push the boundaries of what is expected of a modern three piece.
