The Oxford Imps

Although it took a while for the Oxford Imps to pick up pace, when they reach their peak this comedy troupe generates plenty of laughs amongst the audience.

Under the guiding hand of the show’s compere, and with a good measure of audience interaction, they perform a sequence of fast paced sketches and musicals. The show reaches its pinnacle in a musical based on two words of the audience’s choosing. Bearing in mind that this is family show, the troupe managed to create a very amusing sketch based on “pasta” and the “mafia”, and the whole piece was splendidly accompanied by the Imp musician.

The star of the show had to be Tom Skelton, whose speedy wit both animated sketches and smoothly glossed over the odd hiccup that occurred. As with all improvised comedy, the standard of performance varies from show to show, but this group will provide solid family entertainment.
