Inua Ellams, Phill Jupitus and Josie Long among cast for Nassim

The new play will run at the Traverse Theatre following its premiere at the Bush last week

Casting has been announced for Nassim which runs at the Traverse Theatre as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this month.

Written by Nassim Soleimanpour and directed by Omar Elerian, the piece will follow the same premise as the Iranian playwright's previous work including White Rabbit Red Rabbit. A different performer will turn up each night and read from a script given to them in a sealed envelope, without rehearsals or any preparation.

The cultural figures joining Soleimanpour on stage throughout the run include Desiree Burch, Phil Burgers, Monica Dolan, Chris Goode, David Greig, Zinnie Harris, Charlotte Josephine, Anna Morris, Mark Thomas and Chris Thorpe.

Later in the run the guest performers will include Phill Jupitus, Inua Ellams, Seiriol Davies, Chris Thorpe, Josie Long, Richard Gadd, Nir Paldi, Rachel Mars, Brian Ferguson, George Mann and Ursula Martinez.

The actor taking part will be revealed the day before their performance on Twitter using the hashtag #NassimThePlay.

Nassim runs at the Traverse Theatre from 3 to 27 August.
