Dark Things In Store For Traverse

Edinburgh’s Traverse Theatre has announced its next major production of a new work. Artistic Director Dominic Hill will direct the world premiere of The Dark Things by award-winning Irish writer Ursula Rani Sarma.  Opening in Traverse 1 on Thursday 8 October at 8pm, the show will run until Saturday 24 October.

The play follows Daniel who is famous and has walked away from disaster and turned it into art.  As he prepares for the most important exhibition of his career, he tries to figure out why he isn’t feeling lucky.

The cast of The Dark Things includes Brian Ferguson (Black Watch, Rupture) as Daniel with Keith Fleming (Barflies), Suzanne Donaldson (Dark Earth), Nicola Jo Cully (The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie) and David Acton.  The show is designed by Neil Warmington with sound by John Harris and lighting by Lizzie Powell

The Dark Things is Ursula Rani Sarma’s first commission for the Traverse Theatre.  Based in Dublin, she has written for stage, radio, screen and as a poet.
