Edinburgh Moment: Weirdest Audience

Pop princess meets Cockney rocker. Pistol and Jack mash up hits from Bowie to Beyonce and bring

Smash.Glam.Sex.Music to the Fringe.

We were playing a variety gig last year and only had a ten minute slot. The front row was filled with

every comedian’s worst nightmare, but Jack’s dream come true: a hen party. Thirty seconds in they got

confused and thought Jack was the stripper. Jack does frequently takes his clothes off when we’re

onstage, anyway, but it was unrelated this time. A very demanding Maid of Honour spent eight minutes

barking orders at Pistol for more drinks and complaining about the lights, whilst Jack was forced to take

jelly shots out of the bride-to-be’s mouth. We didn’t play one song, but we walked away with £23 in

Scottish notes and a good buzz. Not actually our worst gig.

Pistol & Jack – Smash.Glam.Sex.Music is on at Assembly George Square from the 5-28 August (excl 16, 23) at 21.20.
