Inside the Cage – Our Fab Company

So here we are 8 performances into the Fringe, and it’s time to take stock….

We have the most amazing company, and I feel really grateful that they were all free and have come together so well to perform this tense, but exciting play – for those who have not been to see the play yet, we have four actors who are:

Dugald – also the author of the play (and fellow blogger on this site) who has an a stellar background both in West End (Propeller and most recently Deep Blue Sea, with Gretta Scacchi, and in Edinburgh (many productions at the Lyceum, and the festival’s 2009 hit production of Prime of Miss Jean Brodie).
John – another great actor, past actor with RSC and other major productions such as The Winslow Boy
Penny – just finished playing the lead in the tour of The Lady Vanishes, and also a regular with Jill Freud’ company in Suffolk
Lewis – recently graduated top of the class from Italia Conti and is a real star for the future

Then we have our great stage and technical manager Beth who has been working at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford, our co-producers on the play.

And not forgetting Richard our Director – a scottish theatre ‘veteran’ with many plays in Edinburgh, and also Pitlochry where he has been directing 2 plays this summer.

On top of that we have so many others to thank – a subject for a future blog on how a production like this comes together!

For now, though it’s great how everyone is working together.  And that’s also helped by the nicest crew at the Pleasance Dome – Julia, Tim et al, I know we have said it before, but thanks again!

Reviews are starting to come in thick and fast (and really nice ones too), we are being stopped in the street by people who have seen the play and loved it, and now we have people talking to us about the future and licensing this premiere play for the future!!  All very exciting.

Do come and see the play – 15.50 daily at the Pleasance Dome.  We really think it’s growing into something special – more details, reviews and production photos on www.thecageonstage.com
