Last Chance to Feel the Fear in Alien’s Lair

This summer is the last chance to experience Alien Wars at The Arches, Glasgow. The terrifying ‘walkthrough experience’ was extended until August 2009 (with no more extensions this time), and has so far frightened the wits out of more than 50,000 brave victims including lead singer of hot band The Gossip, Beth Ditto, who hollered her way through the show, and the creator of War of the Worlds Jeff Wayne who came face-to-face with the beast.

With new scares being added all the time and a frightening late night version, it’s a great adrenaline boost for youngsters, teens, friends and families. The late night show (8pm to 10pm) has been used as the perfect start to a stag or hen night to get the heart pumping for a great night out.

The ‘walkthrough experience’ takes you deep into the very bowels of the Arches through its winding corridors, abandoned spaces and old lifts to visit the alien containment chamber. It’s all very safe, we assure you. Alien Wars, which has been described as a ghost house with aliens, has been developed so that it is right up-to-date for 2009.

Spookily, during its run Alien Wars invited a team of professional ghost hunters to The Arches after hearing and apparently seeing the ghost of a little girl in the basement space where the show is based. The ghost hunters detected other malevolent forces attracted by the nervous energy of the audience visiting the show. They also recorded voices. It is said that the Arches were formerly stables, a market place and many people were taken to this spot back in the 19th century to be murdered.
