Fringe Brews Up Deal With Deuchars

After
the Edinburgh Comedy Awards recently announced a sponsorship deal
with Foster’s lager (See News 26
May 2010), The Festival Fringe Society is
teaming up with local Scottish brewer Deuchars IPA in a three-year
sponsorship deal.

The
Edinburgh produced ale will help thousands of visitors navigate their
way across the festival city. The company will sponsor the
distinctive venue boards and combined festival maps meaning the
branding will appear next to the map in every official Fringe
programme and in hundreds of venues throughout the Scottish capital.

In
another first for Deuchars IPA, their iconic Caledonian Brewery on
Slateford Road will become a venue – number 268 – and will
host its own programme of events during the Fringe.

Announcing
the partnership Kath M Mainland, Festival Fringe Society Chief
Executive, said:

“It
is with great pleasure that the Fringe Society can announce that
Deuchars IPA is a key new sponsor for 2010. As two internationally
recognised Scottish brands, both famous for their Edinburgh
connection, we’re delighted to be working together”

Stephen
Crawley
, Managing Director of Caledonian Brewing Company, who make
the ale said:

“This
is a significant step for Caledonian and I look forward to building a
mutually beneficial relationship with the Fringe. Edinburgh provides
such a stunning backdrop for the biggest arts festival in the world
and for us as a local business and a strong Edinburgh and UK brand,
we are very proud to be part of such a prestigious event.”

The 2010 Edinburgh Festival Fringe runs from 6 to
30 August 2010. The Fringe Programme, with full show and venue
listings, will be launched on Thursday 10th June. The
Fringe Box Office opens on Friday 11th June at 8.00am.
