Forest Fringe Announces Third Edinburgh Season

Forest Fringe, billed as a “miniature festival within a festival” has announced the line-up for its third season on the Edinburgh Fringe. Housed at The Forest Cafe on Bristo Place, this year’s programme runs from 17 to 29 August 2009.

In partnership with the Battersea Arts Centre and Glasgow venue The Arches, Forest Fringe aims to provide a low-cost environment for artists to present works-in-progress, offering them both free space and accomodation. Tickets are sold on a pay-what-you-can basis.

This year’s line-up of artists includes a mix of internationally acclaimed companies such as Curious, Improbable, Bill Aitchison, Third Angel, Rotozaza and Action Hero alongside some of this country’s emerging talents, including Tinned Fingers, Kings of England, Belt-Up Theatre, Deborah Pearson and Chris Williams.

Alongside the performances, the BAC will be running an innovative series of events, including its trademark late night Scratch sessions.

This year, Forest Fringe will also be collaborating with a number of other venues for the first time, including the Southbank Centre’s Hide&Seek Festival and performance venue Stoke Newington International Airport, who will be presenting a line-up of special events that “make space for artists to try out brand new ideas whatever form they may take”.
