Musical comedy based upon The Addams Family characters created by Charles Addams in his single-panel gag cartoons, which depicted a ghoulish American family with an affinity for all things macabre (not so much based on the TV or Film franchises). Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family - a man her parents have never met. And if that weren't upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he's never done before - keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday's 'normal' boyfriend and his parents.
Cameron Mackintosh says of the School Edition, "The Future of the theatre is all about developing and nurturing a passion for musicals and plays among the young. This is where the new audiences will come from. And I believe "Les Miserables", which tells a story of so many committed, impassioned young people, should provide a thrilling theatrical learning experience for teenagers across the UK" The Schools Edition will be generally available for performance from November 4th 2002. Any school can apply to stage this edition with the provisos that no performance must take place on school premises.
