Michael Ball will star in Mack and Mabel

Michael Ball will star in a production of Mack and Mabel at Chichester Festival Theatre next year, according to the Daily Mail.

The show will by directed by CFT artistic director Jonathan Church, with choreography from Stephen Mear, and will see Ball returning to Chichester following his WhatsOnStage Award-winning performance in Sweeney Todd.

Jerry Herman and Michael Stewart's Mack and Mabel tells the story of the relationship between Hollywood director Mack Sennett and movie star Mabel Normand.

Michael Ball's myriad West End credits include Hairspray, The Phantom of the Opera and Chitty Chity Bang Bang, as well as the transfer of Sweeney Todd. He is set to go on a solo UK tour in April and May 2015, entitled If Everyone Was Listening.
