As previously reported, Chichester Festival Theatre's recent revival of Broadway musical The Pajama Game, directed by Richard Eyre, will transfer to the West End's Shaftesbury Theatre on 1 May.

Initially booking until 13 September 2014, the show replaces new Tim Rice musical From Here to Eternity at the Shaftesbury, which closes on 26 April.

Billed as a "buoyantly blissful blend of romance and comedy", The Pajama Game stars Joanna Riding, reprising her role from Chichester, and Michael Xavier, who replaces Hadley Fraser for the West End transfer.

Further casting is still to be announced.

Adler and Ross's 1954 musical is based on Richard Bissell's novel 7½ Cents and is set is a pajama factory, where love blossoms between two of the workers. It was last seen in the West End in 1999 directed by Simon Callow.
