EastEnders stars Shane Richie and Jessie Wallace will reunite on stage next year in a new tour of Peter James's The Perfect Murder.

The production will open at the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham on 2 February 2016 before embarking on a "major UK tour".

The story centres on Victor Smiley and his wife Joan, who have been married for a long time. The marriage has reached a crisis point and Victor decides there is only one way to get Joan out of his life forever – but he's about to get a nasty surprise.

Directed by Ian Talbot and adapted by Shaun McKenna, the production previously toured the country in 2014.

Peter James said: "The first run of The Perfect Murder was a sell out success and we have followed that this year with an even more successful run of my best-selling book Dead Simple. To now have Shane Richie and Jessie Wallace star in The Perfect Murder really is another dream come true."

Following Cheltenham the production will visit: Bromley, Dublin, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Brighton and Northampton. Additional venues and further casting will be announced later this year.
