Ozians around the country will be able to defy gravity in 2018, as the hit musical Wicked is set to embark on a new UK tour.

Starting in Bristol in February 2018, Elphaba and co will then follow the yellow brick road to Liverpool, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Dublin, Sunderland, Southampton and Cardiff, before arriving in Manchester for Christmas 2018.

Wicked celebrated ten years in the West End last year, making it the eighth longest-running show currently playing in the West End.

Stephen Schwartz's musical is based on Gregory Maguire's novel and features characters from L Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz about the friendship between two witches.

The show is currently playing in Hong Kong with a cast including Bradley Jaden, Jacqueline Hughes and Carly Anderson, and opens in Manila on 2 February. Tickets for the new tour go on sale from 1 February 2017.

Wicked is currently booking at the Victoria Apollo until November 2017.
