Changes for Southwold and Aldeburgh summer theatre

A new management structure for the Southwold and Aldeburgh summer theatre seasons has been announced. After 28 years of sole responsibility, Jill Freud has decided that it has now become appropriate for this to devolve on a new partnership, though she continues as a active patron, remains on the board of the trust which administers the seasons and hopes to continue performing in them.

The existing management team – which has worked closely with Freud for a number of years – consists of Andrew Falkingham, Mark Sterling and Peter Adshead. As ASF Productions, trading as The Jill Freud Company, it will now undertake all future management and season planning. This ensures both a continuity of purpose and the maintenance of standards.

Productions currently premiere at either Southold’s converted St Edmunds’ Hall or in Aldeburgh, at the Jubilee Hall, and transfer between the two venues throughout the July to September season. Plans for the 2012 repertoire have yet to be announced.
