North East Panto Guru honoured

Michael Harrison, the North East born MD of Qdos Pantomimes who has written and directed the last seven smash hit pantomimes at the Theatre Royal , Newcastle, has been honoured.

Michael, who has always been supportive of Whatsonstage.com Northeast, was awarded an honorary scroll at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. (LIPA) The award, Championship of LIPA, to recognise his services to pantomime, was made by Beatles legend, Sir Paul McCartney, who travelled to Liverpool just for the presentation.

Michael will be back in the region with this years pantomime, Aladdin, as well as producing his first West End show , The Bodyguard, which previews from November. He is also planning to open tours for two new shows at the Theatre Royal late in 2013 and early 2014.
