Based on playwright Steve Burbridge’s interviews conducted with HIV+ young men from around the region, Testing Times explores the life-changing impact of being diagnosed HIV+ from the perspective of a young gay man, his partner and his mother. Frank and funny, poignant and provocative, Testing Times chronicles the journey from anger, fear and despair to acceptance, strength and hope.

Christopher Strain (One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest; East; Riot) stars as Dominic, whilst Collin Baxter (Visiting Mr Green; Caught In The Act) takes on the role of Chris, Dominic’s partner, and Angela Szalay (Calendar Girls; The Selkie; Waiting for Gateaux) plays Brenda, Dominic’s no-nonsense mother. Testing Times plays the Trent House, Newcastle 22 to 27 April.
