A pantomime version of a classic story is coming to Darlington next month and needs local performers to become some of the show’s most memorable characters.

The Wizard of Oz, which comes to Darlington Civic in April, is appealing for young performers aged over six to join the cast in the roles of Munchkins.

The show stars Tracey Beaker’s Dani Harmer (Dorothy), comedy legend Bobby Davro (Scarecrow), Sarah-Jane Honeywell from CBeebies' Tikkabilla (Glinda), Eastenders’ Aaron Sidwell (Wicked Witch’s Henchman) with a full supporting cast and live band.

Wannabe Munchkins are invited to attend workshops that will be held at Hummersknot Academy, Darlington on Tuesday 10 April and Oakfields Community College , Middlesbrough on Wednesday 11 April.

Every child that attends the workshops will be invited to join the star studded cast on stage for a performance of the classic L. Frank Baum story. The cost of taking part in the show is £35 which includes two half day workshops and a performance. To register for a place in the workshops simply visit Enchanted Workshops.
