ABOUT THE PLAY – Hobson's Choice:
Salford, 1880. Widower Henry Hobson is struggling to handle his three grown-up daughters, each seeking a husband and an escape from the family-run boot makers shop. But with Hobson spending more time at the Moonraker’s pub than on the business of boots and clogs, the future prosperity of the family firm is held in the hands of his eldest daughter Maggie. Her strength of character, wisdom and no-nonsense integrity is in sharp contrast to the bombastic self- importance of her father and the snobbery of her sisters.
When Maggie sets her sights on talented boot maker Willie Mossop it’s the beginning of an unlikely partnership that could threaten the future of Hobson’s trade. A battle of the sexes looks set to commence as father and daughter go head to head in this classic Lancashire comedy.
Directed by David Thacker. And starring Christopher Villiers and Natalie Grady.

But, please note this is subject to availability, so have a few dates in mind when booking. Tickets cannot be exchanged for any production at the Octagon. Only one entry per household/email account please, as multiple entries/spammers will be deleted. Also, please ensure that you are free to attend between 22 January – 22 February (Sats excluded) before entering, as we cannot offer alternatives, should your plans change. Travel is not provided and please note seating could be anywhere in the auditorium and we are not provided with these details in advance. The winner will be emailed.
