i initially thought that this was something in bad taste like the gossip headline the other week summer strallen dies - not dead, but appearing in love never dies as meg giry
so i did a bit of googling, and found out that it was true, and as i was doing this the story came onto the bbc news channel
i personally didnt rate stephen as a performer and thought that he was an aquired taste, but i could see he was very talented, and brought happiness to lots of fans
its always terribly sad when people die before their time, when there appears to be no apparent reason - did he have sudden adult death syndrome? had he had a drink and then vomitted and inhaled his vomit or was it just one of those things which will never be explained - whichever its terribly sad, and thoughts are with his partner, family and friends

When my Mum told me this I didn't believe her until I saw it for myself - it's shicking how someone so young could die so suddenly for no discernible cause. I didn't really know much about him as a performer, but any young death like this is sad.

It is a total shock! I have been a fan of his since I was 11 (I am now 26!)
My thoughts are with all his friends and family, his husband and the rest of the band.

I'm also in shock - 33 is far too young to die.
I was a teenage Boyzone fan, and although I outgrew their music, I have many happy memories of them. Steo was always my favourite - lovely pure voice and by all accounts a very sweet and quiet man who came alive on stage and just loved performing in front of a live audience.
I even have the solo album somewhere, I think.
I'm regretting that I never saw him in Joseph or Chitty now.
I feel for the poor man's friends, family and partner.

I saw him in Chitty, and he was the best part of the whole show.
It will be a big loss to all the Boyzone fans, and to the rest of the band.
RIP Stephen

The autopsy showed that Stephen died of Acute Pulmonary Oedema - which could have been caused by a heart problem Stephen wouldn't have even know he had.

It is a terrible tragedy when anybody dies so young, whatever the reason (and a shame that his family and friends have to endure the media speculation on top of their grief but so the world of fame goes round). I wasn't a Boyzone fan (too old probably!), but I saw him in Chitty - I had my doubts when I saw the casting, holding on to a lifelong fear of the child-catcher after seeing the film as a child and thinking that perhaps a pop star from a boyband would be...too "pretty" and not carry it off, but I can tell you that I thought he was fantastic in that role and I watched most of his performance through a small gap in my fingers [lollipops, ice-cream...shudder].
He moved with grace like a dancer and, with the costume and make-up, scared the proverbial out of me and so he will be remembered by me, one small person in the world, as a great performer. RIP
