Off to the matinee today. Anyone else seen it yet? I will post thoughts later...my first outing to Beckett.

i saw it last night - great performances but whats the point!! i feel the same with pinter, but it was enjoyable especially the performances from miriam margolyes and the guy playing the father. she was on stage for less than 10 minutes but totally stole the show! great facial expressions

i dont know about the stalls, but the circle was less than half full so unless it gets good reviews it might struggle for its 70 performances

I saw this last night, the theatre was 2 thirds full I'd say. I really didn't enjoy it, not because of the performances, they were all solid, I just didn't enjoy the play, it seemed pointless, rambling and too long at 2 hours with no interval.

I'm sure I'm missing something as I know people who think Endgame is a masterpiece...unfortunately I'm not one of them!

Loved this! What fun! I have been thinking about the themes ever since and am a fan....it really makes you think.
Mark Rylance was very convincing and had such fun playing the part and the set was great...very claustrophobic and the windows REALLY high up...I was amazed at the chap playing Clov going up and down the step ladder without mishap! This was still in preview but you would not have known...very professional all round and just 1 and a half hours of interesting dialogue. Only the first 15 or so rows were full downstairs for the matinee....I have never been to a theatre so empty..but the audience were impressively well behaved. Not a cough or sweetie rustle throughout! I liked the fact that I could hear every word spoken clearly.
Go see ...I recommend!

West End Whingers liked it too. I feel like this deserves a good audience!

Special offer on this one...I can thoroughly recommend. One that makes you think and think...why am I still nice to my mother-in-law and worry about making her happy?! When will I just have that row with her and never ever talk to her again?!

I'm very surprised that this has slipped onto the second page of the forum, I would have expected lots of people to go to this production! I am hoping to see it tommorow, getting £20 concession seats. Has anyone else on here seen this?
Marginal
Yes, saw it a few weeks back and really enjoyed it. I love this play anyway, it's pretty bullet-proof. Having not long seen Rylance in Jerusalem, seeing him in this was very interesting. Two great and very different performances. Will be seeing Jerusalem again on its West End run, having raved about it to Mrs Marginal who thought he was superb in Endgame and now wants to see Jerusalem.
