Am really looking foward to having John back in the West End in The Drowsy Chaperone. For any other John fans out there I caught him a couple of weeks back appearing at The Kitsch Lounge Riot night at The Pigalle Club. He did a great set with the house band.

Have just had an e-mail through from them to say he is appearing again on the 22nd March and the 29th March. If you are interested you can book via their website http://www.kitschloungeriot.com . Don't get confused because they only seem to promote their headline act there . Well worth the £15 entrance fee for John alone.

I am a HUGE fan of John Partridge! I am lucky enough to see him in Drowsy Chaperone in May and I can not wait. He is an amazing performer and it will be the first time ever that I have seen him live! It's cost me a fair bit and it's been a real struggle to get the money together but it's going to be so worth it! I really can not wait, I would love to see him at the Pigalle Club as well but I am only 16 and don't know wether I would be allowed in?!?
Take care everyone

I think you do need to be 18 Evie I'm afraid.
Had another e-mail today to say that on 22nd Tiffany Graves is also on the bill.
There is also a special offer for the next two weeks at only £5 if you e-mail the organiser in advance with your names to be put on the guest list. See this banner that they put on my MySpace comments.

If this is the same John Partridge who desecrated Bui Doi on the last Miss Saigon tour it would another reason to avoid The Drowsy Chaperone, which include the fact that the show is daft and the Novello has seats which border on criminally uncomfortable.

The very same one....but give him a chance. Maybe he will have learned to act by the time this show opens?
Felix
I really cant see him in the role BUT the show is good and his role I don't really care so I'll go watch the show no matter what ~
Evie
Sorry to be slow un the uptake with this message but to David B. John Partridge was absolutely fantastic in Drowsy Chaperone, the whole show was incredible and did not deserve to close. I saw it twice and met John both times. He was brilliant onstage and absolutely lovely off. I never saw him in Miss Saigon but I have heard that it was not the highlight of his career but surely every performer has a show/character which is slightly off! Everything I have ever seen him in was brilliant and he inspired me to become a performer. He always gives a 100% onstage, has a beautiful and powerful voice, is a fantastic dancer and has portrayed every role brilliantly! I can not wait to see him in his next venture.

A devoted John Partridge fan.

I think I first heard of him as Electra on the "New" Starlight Express cast recording. Then I saw his great rendition of the Rum Tum Tugger on the video of Cats. I then saw him live in Taboo and thought he was brilliant as Marilyn (and he also plays the part on the DVD). I heard the OBC of Drowsy and didn't like it at all so I wouldn't go and see it and the show will be closed by the time I go down to London at the end of November.
Evie
I agree the OBC are not wonderful, some of the singers are abit dubious, but the music is fantastic! And the show on West End was brilliant. I can not understand why anybody would dislike it, where is its fault? And John was perfect as Robert Martin! You were so lucky to see him live as Marilyn, I love the DVD!

It just sounded way too camp to me. I hated the voice of the original "Man In Chair" as he sounded like a stereotypical gay man and I get fed up of gay stereotypes.

I actually thought he was better than the original guy (although I've only heard the original guy on the London cast recording).
Evie
I think Bob Martin was brilliant onstage. I was lucky enough to see both him and Steve Pemberton and they were both great! The music is wonderful and it is supposed to be cheesy etc! It's just light hearted fun! Well, whatever anybody thinks about it it will always have a special place in my heart.

Well he was just interviewed in a new gay magazine where he talks about it.

Frist saw John on Pebble Mill doing stuff from Hunting Of The Snark, then in Starlight, and a fab in-german stadium version of Rent I caught on telly once.

Truely great presence but have enver seen him playing a proper, 3D role (and refuse to watch EastEnders to find out).

Yes, Cats, Tommy, Stalight Express, Rent Etc Etc Etc... He is Electra on the New Starlight Express '93' Albumn. A very talented performer.

Went to see cats when I was 11 or so (around 92/93) and was announced that he was understudy for Tugger and would be going on. He was ace, followed his career since and now I feel very old lol!
