Does anyone else find his "American" accent atrocious? Personally I think his interpretation of Galileo falls far short of previous Galileos- MiG, Tony, Peter, Jason Wooten (Las Vegas) ?
I understand those who may not have previously seen We Will Rock You with anyone else but Ricardo may disagree with this statement- but I cringed the whole way through seeing the show with Ricardo. His acting is incredibly two dimensional (even for the two dimensionally acted show)
His redeeming factor is undoubtably the power of his vocals, but I can't help hoping this year will be his last in the show. I mean he hardly looks like his playing age- a 17/18 year old high school student?!!!

It can't be easy putting an American accent on over his Portuguese one.

I never quite understood why Galileo needs an accent in the first place.... Is it just because Tony was the first?

I totally agree. I actually like Ricardo's accent doing the part. It's not perfect American but it's just the right accent for the part. As the above poster said, who says Galileo has to be American?

I'm not keen on Ricardo's Gallileo compared to the numerous others I've seen. I find his diction quite unclear, especially during songs.
And I know he's supposedly got this amazing singing voice but I can't say it's to my personal taste. I find his ridiculously extended 'deo' bits at the end highly annoying!!!
I always try to see Jon Boydon these days. I miss the Galileo's of old though and would like them to try a younger actor closer to the age of the high school student being portrayed.

I've seen him in WWRY where he was brilliant and I also saw him on friday in a queen concert with BSO, Kerry ellis, Mazz Mirray and MiG (can't remember surname). He is a fantastic singer and if you get the opourtunity to hear him sing 'The show must go on' you must take it.

Gotta love Ricardo <3
Ok, he isn't the best actor in the world, but he puts across the character well enough for the audience to understand what Galileo is all about, and he does hae the most AMAZING voice!! Lets face facts, there arn't THAT many actors who can BELT up a Top E, 6 times a week, give every performance 100% physcally, and be the most amazing actor in the world

I suppose we've gotta compromise somewhere :/
That said, Jon Boyden is a STUNNING Galileo.

Hammer To Fall...last chorus
Scaramouche: Ah oh yeh-eh-eh
Galileo: AH oh yeh-eh-eh
Lots of Top Cs in the show too..which aint easy

ah yes! I see where you mean now! Gosh, didn't realise that.
I knew there were loads of top C's but a top E?? immense! I do love that guy! He makes it seem sooo easy!

Oh my goodness..... people who judge! FYI, it's NOT an American accent, it's Ric's own accent. Do some research, love before you make sweeping statements! Ric was off recently due to a back injury. Nothing more sinister than that.

Whereas I saw him on the Saturday night and thought he was dreadful! I'd never seen him in WWRY ( ended up with Jon Boyden the two times I've seen it) so was looking forward to hearing him. Didn't think he had much stage prescense at all esp not compared to Mig!
