Went to see La Cage Aux Folles last night (I booked to go before cast change as the thought of seeing Graham Norton was not good!)
However, when I got to the theatre there were notices saying the 2 leads were off (I was not best pleased but went to see the show, not the performers)
Just as the show was about to start the director came on stage and explained how 'flu and laryngitis(sp?) were going around and that as they were short on people, Graham Norton would be playing Albin!
So, 3 weeks ahead of schedule and with very little rehearsal, he had his first night in the show.
The show was very good. I liked the songs, sets and the acting was all good (including GN's who had a good stage presence)
The singing from the 2 leads was a bit iffy to be honest and I was not at all impressed with the understudy for George, who was the weakest link.
The son (Stuart Neal I see!) had a very nice voice and wasn't dripping sweat like the last time I saw him in Evita!
The dancing Cagettes were very impressive also.
Overall, I really enjoyed the show and think with more rehearsals and maybe a few singing lessons, Graham Norton will end up being very good in the role.

I think you are mixing up Neal Toon and Stuart Neal.

Toony never played in Evita and is not in the current cast of La Cage
