Wouldn't surprise me - he didn't look very happy when Adam Godley got a standing ovation and he didn't at Rain Man

I've heard a lot that Ruthie Henshall is a complete b*tch, but I've never experienced it myself!

You wouldn't experience it though would you? After all you did pay her salary for Marguerite single handed

Strange thing to say. Hannah is one of the most lovely people on the West End with backstage crew and fans alike...

I've heard nothing but lovely things about Hannah Waddingham and went i met her she was one of the nicest people. Stood and spoke to her for about half an hour!
I've heard Glenn Carter can be a bit on and off with people, i've never met him though!

I wonder if you are mixing up the word Diva with Prima Donna.

I wonder if this is a wise thread. It's going to be a lot of hearsay, an array of differences of opinion, and - in the very worst case - a legal minefield.

Without wishing to condone bitchiness, isn't there bound to be a disclaimer somewhere that says 'views expressed here are the views of individual members and not Whatsonstage.com', thus removing any legal issues from a thread like this?
On a similar line, presumably PR people can't take individual reviews (e.g. a glowing account of a show from a mysterious guest perhaps) and attribute them to 'Whatsonstage'.
And it's a bit of a catch 22- if any performer were to try to bring legal action over such a petty (if nasty) issue, they're probably deserving of the 'diva' label!

I don't think any such disclaimer can work for this site. Do you remember when 'Rain Man' changed director? The Daily Mail published an article stating somewhat negative reasons as to why this change took place. Someone here pasted the article onto the forum, making it clear that they were just reporting what the Daily Mail had said and it was not their own opinion, but the post still had to be removed because it was legally tricksy. I'm sure that if it wasn't, the post would have remained intact. Plus if someone did decide to go to town and cut down on all rumours of acting like the cat's pyjamas, I wouldn't want to be a website owner just trying to let people chat about theatre when the lawyers came steaming into town.

All doomsday lawyering scenarios aside, it's still a discomfiting thread. Someone might interpret "doesn't like to sign autographs at the stage door" as "IS A MASSIVE DIVA WHO HATES FANS AND WISHES THEM ALL DEAD!", which wouldn't exactly be accurate or fair. As Mark Twain (reportedly) said, "a lie can travel halfway round the world before the truth can put its socks on". A libellous lie isn't the nicest thing to spread about, and even if it's true that a certain performer genuinely believes that everyone else in the world is beaneth them, so what? If they're giving out good performances, that's all we as audience members really need.

When people post articles from other sites here they often have to be removed for copyright reasons. Contrary to popular belief, being on the Internet doesn't automatically entitle someone to ignore copyright simply because they want to share something with others. Links to the original material are OK. Reposting the original material is not.

I've heard that Glenn Carter can be a bit odd... more to the point.
He actually started telling people that he believed he was the second coming of christ after doing JCS. So the rumours go anyway.

And then he started trying to convert his fans to some weird religion. He's a nice enough guy though!
Hannah Waddingham is far from a diva to her colleagues etc as previously stated. I know that first hand having worked with her numerous times.

Yeah because his religious beliefs aren't remotely bizarre!
