An Enemy of the Circle
The final one of the Dublin Thtre Festival's trio of UK bound shows and this one's (marginally) the best - a very strong 4/5!

If you liked the Film "In Bruges" you'll love this.

Actually if you hated that film you may still like this!

The film was kinda...strong let's say.

Here's the review for those keen to read up

Dubliner
I saw this production on Monday in Dublin and it's very good. I was hoping Garry Hynes would give a different interpretation from the Nicholas Hytner National production which I loved some years ago. This take on the play is quite a bit darker with Billy being more realistically crippled and the cast playing in a more naturalistic style. This serves to make the play bleaker and much crueler. The comedy in particular is a little muted but more savage. Unfortunately some of the best lines do not hit home without the broader playing of the NT production. One of the most interesting aspects is that Dearbhla Molloy is reprising her role as Auntie Eileen in this production. It's a little disconcerting as you keep expecting Kate to be the wonderful Anita Reeves - one can't complain though as she's now played by Marie Mullen.
