Stage One Theatre Company, Essex and London's premiere amateur theatre company, is currently casting for its next exciting production, the hit Broadway show 'BIG - The Musical', based on the 1988 movie starring Tom Hanks.

This production is being staged in Ilford, Essex in February 2009 (Half Term week).

We are looking for talented and enthusiastic youth & adult musical theatre performers for lead, supporting and company roles. Rehearsals take place in Romford, Essex two evenings a week and Sunday daytimes.

Please note: All children must be a minimum of 12 years of age by 16th February 2009 and must not have been licensed under The Children (Performances) Regulations six months prior to this date. Parents/Guardians/Chaperones will be required to attend auditions and rehearsals

ROLES:


Young Josh Baskin - An eager, fresh faced, hip-hop dancing 12 year old New Jersey boy.
Male, aged 12 to 14
Confident Actor with strong dancing and singing abilities. Convincing American accent essential. As this role is played by an adult for parts of the show, we are looking for a young Caucasian actor with dark hair.


Billy Kopecki - Josh's best friend and classmate.
Male, aged 12 to 14
Confident Actor with good comic timing and strong dancing and singing abilities. Convincing American accent essential.


Susan Lawrence - A fun loving yet business-minded executive with MacMillan Toys.
Female, aged 25 to 35
This female lead role requires a strong soprano musical theatre performer with excellent dancing and acting skills. Convincing American accent essential.


Paul Seymour - Vice President of MacMillan Toys.
Male, aged 25 to 40
Strong character actor with baritone singing voice and good dance ability. Convincing American accent essential.
