have just 3 nights in london (sept 30, oct 1 & 2) can't get ticket for war horse on 30th, piaf is not playing, so would you please tell me what 3 productions you would recommend? i appreciate your time and effort.

Six Characters in Search of an Author at the Gielgud. I saw it at Chichester, not at all sure whether I'd like it or not. Thought it was excellent. Might even be tempted to try and catch it again.

Haven't seen much else lately except Rain Man at the Apollo and I can't really recommend that.

Bear in mind these are my most basic, generic recommendations, and are only tailored to you by omitting 'War Horse', because I don't know anything about what you like or what you've seen:

'Billy Elliot', 'Brief Encounter', 'The Woman in Black', 'Zorro'.

Pick 'n' choose. The first is theoretically my favourite thing running in the West End right now, the second has been getting nothing but posituvity, the third is a personal favourite and there's a reason it's been running twenty years, and the fourth was infinitely more fun than I was expecting and most excellent on the dance front.

What sort of thing are you looking for? Musicals? Plays? Clever? Funny? Intellectual?

CLever and fun - Brief Encounter - although this is going on tour next year I think. Hairspray is great fun if you like musicals.
Zorro is great fun too.
