They (the general "they") advise people not to do anything that's been recently on Broadway or the West End. Partially because its recentness could easily cause it to be overdone, but also partially because your rendition could end up very influenced by the version that's just been onstage, and they want to audition YOU, not you-being-someone-else.

I don't know about that specific song, but eh. A little something to think on, if not necessarily the most helpful comment.
