I love the show. It may not be the best or most challenging choreography but I really enjoyed it when I last saw it.
I'm also going to be around when it's on.
Sorry to hijack your thread but does anyone know what the seats at the back of the second circle are like?

I was quite disappointed with this one.
MB’s strength is in narrative and not dance, I found this piece to have neither and it left me rather bored. It’s very fluffy and camp just like MB’s nutcracker but at least that one had a great score.
I’m maybe the wrong person to comment on MB as I’ve seen most of his stuff and started off loving it and now I’m becoming tired (Tomorrow’s performance of Dorian Grey maybe my last one!) … Is MB like Katie Mitchell? Always using the same designers, composers and that oh so familiar style?
The seats at the back of the circle are fine. Although this one won’t sell out and you will be able to get it at TKTS or on any of the other offers places. I promise. In recent years his Nutcracker and Swan Lake was there for both Friday and Saturday nights

Have always loved Matthew Bourne's works but never seen them live before (apart from Mary Poppins), missed Dorian Gray and Nutcracker and this around 2-3 yrs ago so when I heard its returning AND there's a facebook discount for 10 pounds per ticket from 3-5th Dec, I bounced at the chance. Got myself a ticket for a tenner first row of stalls... what a kickass deal!
Well... got myself all excited and was it worth it?? YES DEFINITELY!!! It was one of the most beautiful things I've seen! Ok, the choreography was good and great fun but not like WOW WOW amazing but the costumes, sets and OMG those Danny Elfman tunes with the amazing cast... just turned me into tears at least twice throughout the show!! The curtain call with the snowing foam was definitely a really nice touch! I am especially impressed with Dominic North's Edward, so innocent so cute so adorable.... i liked him so much that i drew him:

Well, I saw the final matinee of the show after seeing it once before X'Mas... what a delightful show and still gives me chills & bitterness when i come out! It's so good! I can't believe it's leaving London! I saw Matthew malthouse as Edward this time round (Dominic North last time), both were good but Matthew has a much more mature/darker edge to his protrayal of Edward. The ending is always painful and sad. I hope it comes back to London !!!
Anyway, I did another drawing but with Matthew this time:

The tour closed in Antwerp last Sunday.
I was lucky enough to see both Matthew Malthouse and Dominic North during the final week.
I liked them both, they were very different.
Matt's Edward is more vulnerable and fragile and also darker, more like a different species than a human, I thought.
Dom's Edward is more innocent and childlike and so quick to hope that everything will turn out right.
Matt is the more versatile actor, I thought, and Dom the stronger dancer.
I hope it'll be back on stage soon!

I quite liked this when I saw it a few years back, but I got a bit jaded with Matthew Bourne's stuff. However we are considering going to see Dorian Gray. Is it to be recommended?

My ticket for Dorian Gray in Wimbledon in October came today. I've never seen anything by him and not been to a ballet since I wass 10! I'm really really excited!!

I was quite disappointed in it.
I think maybe I have now seen too many Matthew Bourne things - but this once was particularly cliche'd I thought. And not that much dancing either.
Shame - as I have loved some of his earlier stuff.
