Thought this would be quite interesting. I personally would love to see Oli Tompsett as Link Larkin, Louise Dearman as Elphaba or possibly Glinda, Leanne Jones as Eponine and while I'm at it - Ben james ellis as Fyero or something similar.

Agree/ Disagree?

I'd pay vast amounts of money to revisit the 2004 production of 'Journey's End' at the Comedy Theatre, because it's an amazing play and I'd kill to see Geoffrey Streatfeild as Stanhope. Hell, right now I'd kill to see Geoffrey Streatfeild as anything. It's almost entirely his fault I'm a Shakespeare fan now, and I find it very upsetting that he seems to be resting now that the Histories Cycle is over. sad.gif

He gave a talk at my uni about the Histories Cycle soon after they ended, it was really interesting. I have to admit, I thought of you at the time. rolleyes.gif

Oooh I can think of so many laugh.gif

I'd like to see Darren Carnall or Richard Roe as Link Larkin as I think they're both amazing dancers. Perhaps Lee Mead or Joseph Connor as Fiyero. James Byng, too short probably but because of the emotion he put into his songs and acting when I saw him in LOTR, I'd kill for him to play the Phantom one day. James Bisp as Jack in Into the Woods because he was so sweet and has an utterly gorgeous voice. Greg Bradley as Jekyll or a lead in WWRY because he's got such a powerful voice.

Hm...looking at that, mostly I'd like to see understudies/ensemble members I've thought were amazing, in my favourite lead parts lol smile.gif

Strangely I agree with all of them wink.gif
I'd love to see James Bisp as Freddie in My Fair Lady, it's not that big a part, but I think he'd be great at 'On The Street Where You Live'. There's quite a few more people but I can't think of them at the moment..
Weez
James Bisp... do you know, I think I've been in a show or two with him! The name sounds terrifically familiar, and the photos don't look too unfamiliar either. Would anyone happen to know if he's done any performing in High Wycombe?
Jessie
I'm not sure- you could send him an email..
Can you tell I'm a fan?=P

1) Lucy Williamson as 'CC Bloom' if they ever brought out Beaches the film, as a musical!!!! (Also would love to see her play Ellen in Saigon or KQ in WWRY.)
2) Alexander Evans as Chris in Saigon or Enjolras in Les Mis.
Bess
Weez, yes James was in Wycombe Swan Summer Youth Projects - so was I and I know him a bit from there, too!
starquest
I would love to see some new names in London and get some fresh talent back. Where have the casts gone that were in shows like the original 42nd street, Me & my girl, etc....
Now, they were performers that knew how to entertain and sing, not just warble out a song!
allthatjazz
Annalene Beechey as Roxie Hart and Jessica Martin as Velma Kelly.

Michael Ball as Jean Valjean, without a doubt!!!! Missed seeing him as Marius oh so many years ago and think now he's ready for that role!!!! Just my little opinion!!!
steph vinnie
adrian hansel[seaweed in hairspray] as fyero,or maybe in into the hoods? thinks he's already done lion king?! x
thatlaurakid
LOUISE DEARMAN as meat in WWRY or Elphaa in WICKED cause i figure she is more the low voice...Kerry ellis...as...ANYONE i dont care
rolleyes.gif shes so brilliant!
clair
Sorry but in a recent interview Michael Ball said he wouldn't do Jean Valjean as he feels Marius is his part in Les Mis and he wouldn't be comfortable with it!
curzon
Phil Quast as Sweeney Todd (with Imelda Staunton as Mrs L)

Actually I think Sally Dexter would be phenominal
Nigel
Jonathan Pryce as Ben, and Imelda Staunton as Sally in Follies

Imelda Staunton (again!) as Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd

Caroline Blakiston as Judith in Hay Fever

Oooooh, I have to say I have a few...

Firstly, I hate to say it but I would love to see Darius in Les Miserables. Either as Marius (Haha, his name ryhmes! It's fate wink.gif) or Enjolras and Alex Bourne as Javert. I would also love to see Louise Dearman in Les Mis as she has the emotional capacity as an actress to provide a phenominonal stage experience. Sarah Lark as Tracy Turnblad with Peter Kay as her mother Edna. Perdita Avery as Glinda. She blew me away in The Woman in White when it was in Scarborough - Her management is Cole Kitchen - check her out! She's stunning too! I would also like to see Siobhan Dillon in another show - she was mind blowing in Maria and fabulous as Sandy. She deserves better than Can't Smile Without You. As does Katie Ray - would like to see her as Narrator in Joseph or Amber (Hairspray)

Have I missed something? Woman in White in Scarborough??

Perdita Avery is currently at the Stephen Joseph Theatre (with Janie Dee) in the excellent revival of Woman in Mind ..........

Tim Rogers = Jesus in JSC and Joe in Sunset Boulevard
Michael McCarthy = Dracula and John in Miss Saigon
Michael Ball = J.Valjean in Les Mis
Weez
Ohhh, Darius would make a wonderful Enjolras! (Don't be hatin' on me!) As would Jonathan Pryce make a wonderful Ben Stone. Concurrence! happy.gif

Omg, yeh, Darius would be seriously awesome!! On the subject of Les Miserables - Can we please have Oliver Tompsett as Marius. I love him! And i see people have written how he could be Link. I agree but think he would be sensational as Marius! And can we have Derek Richards back as Val Jean? He understudied way back 1991 and was amazing!!!!!!

Michael Ball as Phantom
Wasn't he rumored to be going in Phantom sometime back before he took on CCBB??
I thought I heard that
And I do like Mike McCarthy as Phantom also

I disagree, I think Oli is too old to play Marius... Shoot me down but when I saw Lewis Bradley as Joseph when Lee was off, I immediately thought he would be amazing. He has the physique and voice... Long as we wore a wig (which he would have to) wink.gif
Dubliner
How about Judi Dench in 'The Lady in the Van'?
akb
Hahaha, Darius... Actually thats not a bad idea - although I think he'd make a fabulous Valjean. Ooooohhhh or John Barrowman wink.gif but thats perhaps just because i love him and want his babies wink.gif

I am eager to see what Lee Mead does next? I think he would be amazing in Phantom... Or perhaps he could open Phantom 2? I would LOVE Miss Saigon to return to the West End... He would make an amazing Chris. Think thats be mentioned before, and I know he's understudied the role. Very interested to see what Jessie Buckley does next? Wasn't a huge fan but I did think she'd be big in the West End by now.

Would love Ben James Ellis as Fiyero (think I mentioned that before but might aswell plug it again wink.gif) and on the Wicked theme, I would love Alex Bourne to take over as Doctor Dillamond biggrin.gif

Funnily enough, although he's relatively young for the role, I'd like to see Darius as Javert. He's got a good strong baritone and loads of stage presence and I think he could nail the self righteousness/arrogance of Javert. Rhett was supposed to be 45 at the end of Gone With the Wind. With a wig Darius could look older still.

It would seem that Michael Ball is going to be in "Hairspray" for the rest of his life. I've already forgotten that he's capable of doing anything else.

Wouldn't Michael Ball be a splendid Emile de Beque?

I would raid my savings to see Fred Johanson as Javert or Phantom in the west end.... ohh what a thought!!!
Jan Brock
Ian McKellen in John Gabriel Borkmann.

18 months isn't that long... huh.gif And he hasn't even finished his first year yet! Plenty of leads stay in a show for far longer than that. He must have been in Chitty for about that long, right?

I would like to see Tim Rogers in anything - he has such an amazing voice. Why isn't he constantly in the West End??

Also to see Steve Balsamo play Jesus again opposite Drew Sarich as Judus would be too fabulous for words... rolleyes.gif

Agreed!!

I'm glad Michael Ball's portrayal of Edna will be around for a few more months yet. smile.gif brilliant performance.

As for the next role. I can see him as Javert. I'd love to see him as Giorgio in 'Passion' again....he's come along way in the intervening years and I think he'd be stunning.

He's in a successful musical, he did some summer concerts, and he does something on Sundays for Radio 2. What more do you expect from him?

Perhaps something the overseas fans can enjoy.

Hairspray and the radio2 show at least until April....good for him wink.gif

I'd kill to see Philip Quast as Javert in Les Mis

I'd love to see Darius and Denise Van Outen in a show together. I know she doesn't like him but their voices would be great together. I can't think what show I'd cast them in though.

Following the subtheme of wishing I'd caught someone in a role in the past, as opposed to the subtheme of fantasy-casting someone in a role they've not yet done, I wish I'd seen Toby Stephens's Hamlet. Because I would KILL to see Clive Wood as Claudius. Think it's a role he'll go back to?
